Helpful Tips For Getting Relief From Plantar Fasciitis Pain

Posted on

If you suffer from plantar fasciitis, then you will have times when your feet will be in severe pain. When the pain comes, you will find it difficult to walk and to even stand. Plantar fasciitis can cause pain that ranges from mild aches to severe stabbing and burning sensations. It's important for you to learn how to alleviate the pain so you can put an end to some of your suffering.

There are three methods detailed below that are known for significantly helping with the painfulness of plantar fasciitis:

1. Allow yourself extra time in the morning

Plantar fasciitis tends to be most painful first thing in the morning. If you plan on waking up and getting right out of bed, you may find you are quickly running behind schedule the moment you go to stand up and feel the pain. Instead, you should set your alarm about a half an hour earlier so you have time to move around a bit and ease yourself onto your feet.

2. Massage your feet before you stand

Before you get out of bed, you should massage your feet for a while. Consider keeping a soothing lotion at your bedside you can use first thing in the morning. Rub each foot firmly, applying a good amount of pressure to the balls and heels of your feet. A foot massaging tub can also be helpful. You can have someone fill it with water and set your feet in it before you start your day.

3. Get comfort from a frozen water bottle

Keep a couple of small, frozen water bottles in your freezer at all times. When your feet are bothering you, take out the water bottles and sit in a comfortable chair. Put your feet on the water bottles and slowly roll them under your feet. The coldness of the bottles will bring you relief and the bottles rolling under your feet will give you a massage, targeting the painful areas in a way that brings you relief.
